Description
Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort sits just outside the village of Empire on Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula. The resort is inspired by the area's natural beauty and Native American heritage. Its name comes from the deep blue colors found in the landscape, and Leelanau is an Anishinaabe word that means "Land of Delight." Indigo Bluffs offers three types of camping experiences. There is a traditional RV park under tall hardwood trees with pull-through, full-hookup, and water-and-electric sites, as well as rustic cabins, family bunkhouses, and tent sites. The gated Luxury RV Resort has 46 sites with 50-amp full hookups, large stamped concrete pads, spacious patios, and most sites are over 6,000 square feet. The resort also has fully equipped cottages with queen bedrooms, full kitchens, walk-in showers, covered porches, fire pits, and outdoor seating.
One of the best things about Indigo Bluffs is its location near some of Michigan's top attractions. Guests are just minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Lake Michigan beaches, inland lakes for paddling, and plenty of hiking and biking trails. Glen Arbor and Traverse City are about 30 minutes away and offer great food, wine, craft beer, art, and seasonal festivals. The area’s landscape, shaped by ancient glaciers and rich in Anishinaabe history, gives the resort a peaceful feel. In summer, long daylight hours and mosquito-free evenings make campfires even more enjoyable.
Indigo Bluffs stands out for its careful design and wide range of amenities. Guests can enjoy a heated pool, Wi-Fi throughout the resort, bath houses, laundry facilities, a camp store, a pavilion, and a playground. There is also a food truck, farm stand, outdoor games, a dog run, propane, a dump station, and storage for trailers and boats. In the evenings, guests can play shuffleboard, ping pong, or cornhole near the waterfall seating area. The resort offers daily, monthly, and seasonal rentals, as well as ownership options, so guests can stay for a weekend or the whole summer. The season usually runs from early May to mid-October. Whether you visit once or return every year, Indigo Bluffs is designed to feel as welcoming as a home in the woods.
